Ethical Hunting
What is it? My definition of “Ethical Hunting” is the Wildlife Photography process. In essence it is Wildlife Photography, to capture that moment you have with the animal in your sights then bang you press the trigger and that moment in time is forever captured.
Personally, I've never been hunting. I have been fishing if that counts. It's not a huge cultural thing here in the UK, not everyone gets it as in other countries. What you see from other internet influencers and TV shows, it's practically the same thing (Hunting & “Ethical Hunting”).
Pre Hunt.
You need to make sure you have your equipment ready and your batteries are charged. What you wear is just as important as your equipment, depending on what you are hunting for. Do you know how to find the animals (tracking) and where they would be, all of this is need-to-know knowledge before you embark on this adventure of capturing that moment.
The Hunt.
You have now arrived at the location of your “Hunt”, you take out your weapon of choice, double check everything is set up correctly and move out. When traversing the terrain, trying to be as quiet as possible you need to take in factors like hunting animals, for example when hunting deer if you are “down wind” the Deer will know first and there is no chance of getting it.
The Shot.
Sometimes quick, sometimes slow and steady. To take the shot you need to be confident and in certain cases try and predict what the animal will do (if you are into wildlife photography we know sometimes that doesn’t go to plan), as you sit there with in animal in your sights waiting for the moment, it's just you and the voice in your head instructing the animal to move a certain way for the perfect shot (those bird will not turn around they know what they are doing). BANG a burst fire of shots being taken as quick as possible to get the perfect shot, the moment has been captured.
The Trophy.
Hunters like to keep parts of or sometimes the entire animal as trophies to show what they have accomplished, Ethical Hunters have that moment in time forever captured when they took the shot. Displayed and proudly shown to everyone.
The Hunt is over.
Who can be an Ethical Hunter?
Anyone.
